One of the benefits of being a small volunteer organization is that we can effectively deal with immediate needs of both civilians and military in the area. While large organization move truck-loads of aid cargo to large distribution centers, we identify needs on the ground and can respond to even the smallest one-off requests. It is not always delivering food and supplies to newly-liberated villages. Sometimes it is just addressing the needs of individual defenders or families with kids.
Case in point: one defender in the region had very large shoe size (EU 49/US 14.5) and had hard time finding shoes that fit him well. We responded by getting a pair of custom-made sneakers to make his life a little easier while out of the trenches so he can rest well and defend Ukraine to the best of his abilities.
It's little things that make huge difference sometimes.
