Our trusty white Ford Escape that was featured in so many volunteer delivery reports on this page unfortunately developed a serious problem. 2+ years of active volunteer service making countless deliveries to the front lines haven't been very kind to our car. It developed the symptoms of a classic 2017+ Ford Escape engine issue which starts with losing engine coolant and leads to irreversible engine damage. Upon our mechanic's inspection, we had no other choice but to replace its engine's short block.
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion in 2022, Sergiy has made 136 long trips covering over 65,000 km, of which 48 were in Zaporizhzhia region, 17 to Donbas and 69 in other regions including Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson and other oblasts. We delivered food, warm clothes, power generators, communication equipment, camo netting, and countless other things. See a short video attached to the post for an overview of some key trips.
This car is a centerpiece of our volunteer operation and we need to repair it ASAP.
We need to order the new engine and required parts from the USA which will cost us around ₴105,000 (CA$3,600/US$2,650) including delivery.
