I have both good news and bad news to share. The bad news is that our volunteers who were evacuating the truck from the front lines, as reported yesterday, were involved in a car accident late last night on their way home. A drunk driver in a Honda sedan collided with their vehicle and the trailer carrying the truck. The sedan struck the left corner of the trailer from behind, scraped along its entire side and their van, then veered off into a ditch, coming to rest upside down some 150+ meters away.
The good news is that everyone survived without any major injuries, even the drunk driver.
Moral of the story - don't drink and drive. Also, Hondas make some decent cars for protecting its occupants. And finally, our volunteers got really lucky to be able to control their vehicle and the heavy load and to come to a safe stop without further incident. Some quality driving from Валерій Білоус there. Together with Sergiy Vakulenko they called emergency services and other volunteers who helped them safely get home and deliver all the vehicles to the shop for repairs.
